I also got a booster pump with it.
Unfortuantly, I can't tell you how it works, as they just shipped it yesterday (same day I ordered).
Though, I am sure that there are enough people that have ordered from e-bay, and they can tell you that e-bay prices are cheap.
From the research I've done, you get a great unit for cheap on e-bay. I have also found that the permeate pump doens't help nearly as much as the booster pump.
I can also tell you from first hand experience, that if you have really hard water (like I do at school, 350 ppm) that I burned through a DI tank in about 150 gallons (3000 grain tank), and I really needed to get an RO unit to put in front of it.
