I would just use the UV. I have heard that copper is hard on the fishes digestive system. It kills the enzymes and make them starve to dead slowly. I heard that in a conversation a long while back so take it how you want. From my experience it makes since to me.


If the fish has had ick for 2 weeks and has been exposed to all those other chemicals it is very weak now and likely to die. I think you need to be proactive and have the uv running from the start of adding fish and not as a solution to the problem. I turn mine on before adding fish and leave it on for a couple weeks after. I have stopped losing fish since doing his. I have a big unit on my tank. It is a 80 watt for 220 gallons but I use one bulb at a time so 40 watts while treating.
