20 amp timer?

Does anyone know where I can get a 20 amp timer to run my halides from? I have a dedicated 20 amp circuit to power 5 metal halide pendants and would like to get a few 20 amp timers to control them. All of the timers I have seen at Lowe's, Menards, and other stores are only rated for 15 amps. I only plan on having one or two pendants per timer so could I get by on a 15 amp timer or will I need a 20 amp one to be safe?

For what its worth, we run both our 400W halides on a 15A timer, but we did use a 20A. We found ours at Big Lots for $5.99 or something like that. "Heavy Duty Timer" made by GE which can switch on and off 48 times per day. But a 15A timer I think would be fine.

Curtis, There's a digital model at home depot that I use on mine. It was 20 dollars, made by intermatic, and runs my 2 250watt HQI metal halides.

Steve did that one from GE have the ground pin in it? You can run close to 1800 watts on 15 amp (in theory) so you are correct about using 15 amp.

timer

Home Depot sells a 40w intermatic timer that is used to run things like pool heaters, jacuzzi, etc... You have to wire after the electrical box, but before the outlet. It may be overkill, but is much safer IMHO than a regular timer and less likely to fail.

That would work, but be a little to pricy and a pain for what I want to do...which is have 5 different lights on at 5 different intervals over 3 different tanks on the same system. The only 20 amp timers I could find were ones designed to stay on for up to an hour to power a hot tub or something like that. Thankyou for the suggestion, but I actually already bought some heavy duty 15 amp timers a couple weeks ago. If had everything come on at once that would be perfect and you could even hide it anywhere in the house between the electrical box and the tank.
