Alright.
Just wondering if anyone has used any of the "Reef Safe" ich treatments and if they were effective?
I was looking at Microbe Lift Herbtana as well as Ruby Reef kick ich. Anyone use either of these products?
Thanks for the help.

Kick Ich, and No Ich Marine are the best two options. Never had either hurt anything, and both work reasonably fast.
Pimfix is an anti fungal it wont help with any Cryptocaryon infection.

IMO from my re best reef safe treatment for Ich is to remove the fish to quarantine and perform either Hyposalinity or copper treatment per the instructions and leave the reef tank fallow (without fish) for at least six weeks.

Thank you everyone for your reply's. I ordered Herbtana and am going to try that. It is an all natural immune system booster that drives off external parasites causing the parasite to die because they cannot return to their host to feed.
Also, the fish have mostly drove off the parasite's already, just an added preventative by using a product to completely rid the ich.
I raised my temp for a week to 82 to speed up the life cycle of the ich, getting them off the fish. As well as fed Garlic Guard every day.
Spanko, thanks for the opinion, but the whole point is to not have to take all of my fish out of the display, set up five hospital tanks and maintain them for six weeks while subjecting my fish to a stressful environment, thus lowering their immune system.

Okay but be careful here with the Herbtana product as I do not see cryptocaryon irritans (marine ich) listed in this description.
"...it advertised to reduce: “skin flukes(gyrodactylus), gill flukes (Dactylogyrus), Ich(ichthyophthirius multifillis), oodinum, costia (ichthyobodonecater), chilonella and trichodina. Parasite infections are characterized by symptoms, such as: milky skin, flashing and heavy breathing.” Like most of you are aware parasites are always present in fish and it is up to the immune system to fight these off, but when stress does happen these symptoms pop up. Herbtana supports the fish’s immune system with dealing with excess parasites, forcing them off the fish and in effect starving them with lack of a host."

Hmm, good catch. When I looked at it I just saw Ich, and new that it was a saltwater product, the classification of the parasite didn't register. A product that is listed to drive off external parasites would in my mind drive off all, regardless of the species. I already ordered the product. I think I will email the manufacturer and ask them if it drives off cryptocaryon.

There is NO Reef safe ich medicine that has ever been proven to work. If the fish do fight off the ich then they would have fought it off just as well by leaving them alone and just feeding them. Some fish can develop an apparent immunity to ich or velvet which is why some of these Reef safe products seem to work.

Yes, I agree, but this is not claiming to be a medicine. But an immunity booster that helps the fish drive off the parasite in question, allowing them to stay parisite free. Most of our tanks do have Ich in low levels in them. With this procuct I hope to try and erradicate it from my tank for good. If this product does what it says, then it will keep the Ich that I do not see off of the fish until hopefully all parasites starve.

I don't think this product will do anything more than good feedings will. Ask them how they determined this and what testing they have done that they will share. My guess is that they will give nothing concrete.

Greetings everyone,
I am also suffering from ICH! It has been almost two weeks now and for the first week I did a 40 gal water change every other day, I feed frozen brine, mysis, formula one, variety of algae with garlic and the ich got worse and worse. I picked up Ich Attack and today is the third day of "double" dose treatment. I received the Herbtana today and gave the tank it's first dose. I read that the free swimming form comes out between the hours 0200 and 0900 and so I dose my Ich Attack at 2300 and 0800 as Ich Attack claims to kill only the free swimming form. I will keep everyone posted as I think I'm the only one trying both treatments at once. No deaths yet and everyone is actively swimming with minimal scraping and eating like little piggies. By the way, neither product is hurting my shrimps, corals, snails, hermits...
