Default ID please

It looks like a small urchin but hides in rocks as well. About the size of a pea. Was curious to know if he's safe for reef?

Agreed, looks like a tiny urchin. Not sure if it's reef safe. Most urchins eat algae so I'd leave it be and keep an eye on it.

Looks very similar to my short-spine, which is reef-safe. Keep an eye on it and see how it matures, the spines will grow into a noticeable/unique form as it grows and it'll be easier to identify.
