bpth on the back glass, about 1/2 - 2/3 of the way up, turned inward as far as they go, one point just slightly upwards, the other just slightly downward. its what i do in my 90 and the flow is pretty random except for int the front bottom corners. thus way the are less intrusive to the view as well.

i can use the reef keeper for wave maker also and my return pump is mag 18 u can see the lockline ware to flows gently if i point them both inward seems like to corners would be dead |

mine aren't dead, they just have a more regular flow., you can always point the return pump toward the corners and slightly down to make more flow in the front lower corners too.

Power heads
I have 2 of mine opposed like you have in your pic in my 120 plus another one on the right hand on constantly. I was planning on using my new RKL in a wave maker cycle for the two opposing and tested it out yesterday but am concerned that the wave maker cycle will reduce flow too much Currently my water flows clockwise but I seem to be getting dead spots where some SOS corals are not getting enough flow and others close to the ph are getting too much and growing strangely in shape and having some die off in shaded areas.

It seems like the 1400s should be ok in a 4 foot tank. I actually have two of them in my 6 ft 180 and they do an ok job. I have them opposing each other and they seem to produce a decent random flow (along with another pump pointing toward the back panel). Saving up for the MPs isn't a bad idea though. Another idea is to add a SCWD to your return line and then your return water will alternate between two inputs, creating more variations in flow. I'm in the process of installing one of these as well.

yeah i see the new scwd u can take apart and fix that a big bonus compaired to the old ones but i think its only the 1 inch one but thats ok i would have to use that one anyway because of gph

ok i moved them to back wall left pointing right right pointing left and streams intercept flow seems good but when it bounces off the front glass it has cleared out the sand ina big way
