Well I've had saltwater tanks in the pass but I do not have one now. But in about 3 months I'll be starting a 75gal .

Not sure yet but I've got maybe 30lbs of sand and 35lbs of rock already .Thinking getting most of it used to cut cost.But as far as setup no idea yet.

I would suggest trying to get a plan together for what you would like to keep in the tank. That will help you determine what equipment to purchace. For example, if you are going to do a FO or a FOWLR, there is no need to spend a bunch of money on high end lighting.

Getting used is a good plan. You can get some great quality eqipment and save a lot of money that way.

Let us know if you have any questions. There are a ton of great people on this site and they are always willing to help. Good luck, and remember to take time to enjoy the process and excitement of designing a new tank. It is one of my favorite things in the hobby. Planning, designing and executing a new tank build.

welcome to the forum! Agreed with saving a few bucks used. A skimmer is like a car, only worth half as soon as you use it
