Halimeda spp harvesting
I was hoping to grow it a little just for looks, then eventually keep it trimmed does it matter where I cut it? should I cut the oldest area's and leave the new growth? does any of it natural die of old age? |

I have trimmed mine off the top (newest growth) and tried to attach it in another system with out much luck, but it keeps growing like crazy in the spot it showed up on my live rock. What size tank are you running, if you get a lot in a small tank it really uses up the calcium!

Their in a 29G with 10G fuge cutting the top's would work me, so far I've been using crazy glue gel to attach them to new spot's. do they fall apart easily and end up all over the place in the tank like aiptasia? or do they normally stay in a close area and sprout new branches? thanks |

I have not had a lot of luck moving it around, but mine doesn't fall apart. I would check your calcium on a regular basis and come up with a plan to keep it around 400.
