I just realized that I never finished updating the thread with my experience with the Microbe Lift Special Blend. It was definitely having an impact on the cyano, but just would not completely rid the tank of it, so after finishing the five week dosing regimen I had to run one round of chemiclean to finally finish it off. I have continued doing the every other week maintenance dose and have not seen any cyano since. Have had very little algae growth on the glass as well.

Overall I am happy with the product, althought I am a little disappointed that it did not completely wipe out the cyano. Don't know if anyone was following that experiment or not, but if you were sorry for not keeping up with the updates. Work has been crazy since the weather got hot.

Well it has been a while since I have updated this thread again. The tank has officially turned two years old. Everything is going fairly smooth. Corals are settling in and are colored up the best I have ever been able to do. They are also growing at a fairly good pace.

I do have some new residents in the QT.

A little more than a year ago I had gotten a Labouti wrasse pair. The male was a brilliantly colored terminal phase male. He died about a week and a half after recieving him, but another pair promptly became available so I tried them. They both died as well. So I was left with the female of the original pair, which has since turned male, but has not even come close to developing the fabulous colors of the original 4.75" male that I had. I vowed that if I ever got a chance to get another large male Labouti I would have to do it.

Pictured above are the females of the trio I recieved a little over a week ago. Here is the male. Hope you enjoy him as much as I do.

I do have one other resident in the QT right now, but I have not decided whether or not I am going to keep him, so I will save that for another day. Thanks for looking.

Very nice pics... Care to share any info on how you take them? Camera, mode, lighting, etc...

Thanks for the compliment. Lighting is all T5's. The display has a Aquatinics Constellation on it, and the QT is a two bulb T5. Camera is a Nikon D3000. Lens is either a stock 18-55 (FTS) or a Tamaron 95mm Macro (all others). Most shots are in RAW. Post processing (adjust for white balance, etc.) done in lightroom.

I consider myself a rookie when it comes to photography and am never very happy with my pictures, but I do get a few good ones here and there.

Thanks Jim. I don't know why it always has to be the ones we wait for forever that give us problems. I guess that is just the way it goes. Oh well. I really can't complain too much.

Besides we can't dwell on the negative. How about a nice thin branched acro to brighten the mood a little.
