Well i finally got my old tanks sold so i was able to move all livestock down to a stock tank and fish into my new sump....

I also recived 2 great deliveries today as well.....! I got my bulkreefsupply Ro/di unit! This thing is sweet, i went with the 75gpd unit,it has a built in dual tds meter, really nice to know your tds on the fly..... i went with this unit because it was best priced and had free shipping, plus they really seem to know there stuff! It was at my door in 2 days perfect condition. Thanks BRS!!!

I also recieved my Glassholes Overflow kit,i was really impressed with their service as well as final product, He made the box a little wider for me (20'') instead of 16'',which was great,i personaly feel this will improve surface skimming,Its the dart model with 2 2'' drain lines......I opted for the lid as well, great product, cant wait to install...Any recomandations on drain line? spa flex or pvc? Im leaning toward pvc personally, but would like the best....

I also talked w GreatlakesAquariums , They said they just cleaned the glass and should start the assembly tomarrow... The tank builder decided he would use 1/2 glass 4'' wide for the euro bracing,Im super happy with that!!! The ends will have 6'' strips front to back... Hopefully, i'll have the tank a couple days before X~mas......

Sounds like everything is falling into place. I like the over flow and that RODI unit is the one I am thinking about buying as well. Really tired of traveling to get water and wasting all the gas.

That stand ROCKS!!!!!! just one question. I just talked to GLA and they told me that they wouldn't build me a tank that was eurobraced. What do I have to tell them to get them to work their magic? Also how are they bracing your tank in order to access the overflow?

Above: U have to just go in there and talk with them, they are just starting to get into rimless and euro brace tanks,My 130 show was one of the first ones they did so im sure thats why he agreed to experiment with mine,They are very kind there and im sure u can pursude them,as far as a warrenty i think it voids mine (part of deal) but not sure,he gave a 1 yr on the first one, which is better than most IMO....

On to the goodies:

3 lumen max elite moguls, 2 250w lumateks, 1 250-400w lumatek, 3 Radium 20k bulbs:

LETS FIRE ONE UP!!!

I plan to build a light rack out of aluminum from home depot...Any thoughts?

Hopefully tank will be ready on wed!!! keep fingers crossed, just picked up 3 55 gal drums and have water goin!!!! Thanks for tagging along...!

I love my Radium 20ks on electronic ballasts. I thought of mounting mine in an aluminum frame like you are. But decide to hang them in my canopy from chain. Here they are sitting in the canopy being attached to the chain.

Im not trying to hijack your thread, but heres why I did what I did.

1. That way I can adjust the lights for height individually. This helps when working on an area or if I ever wanted a lower light area in my tank.
2. I have some large fish that like to splash a lot. And I know what salt does to aluminum. I even got the glass shields in my reflectors since they are aluminum too and have to clean them every couple days. Imagine what it could do to the frame and reflector.
3. Those aluminum pieces are not cheap.

Hope any of that helps. Sorry again if I hijacked.

I don't think you hijacked the thread, but you did give some good info and something to think about with the aluminum. I was thinking of doing same kind os setup, maybe if you spraypaint the frame with rustoleum or something to protect the frame? just a thought! By the way nick i'm jealous of the lighting you got!!
