| | | What to do with a fish I dont want anymore?
I have this black and white damsel that has grown to be about 2.5-3 inches long. He seems to be the bully of the bunch. He has taken a couple chunks out of the tails of my clown. But I have let him be.
Until two days ago when I had my hand in the tank and the little bastard bit me.... twice!
Do you take him to the LFS for credit? Do you trade him or give him a way?
What do you guys do with fish you dont want anymore?

You could try and sell in in the "For Sale" section, or I would try the LFS.

If you can catch him trade him. I have a bowtie damsel in my biocube that is starting to get a little fiesty. I would glad give it to anyone who can catch the little monster.

Trade/Give him to someone that can give the fish a good home. Or return it to a LFS for credit?

That is NOT what they are for!!! Granted, I don't like damsnels (spelled wrong intentionally) anymore than the next person but it certainly isn't fair to the damnsel to be subjected to ammonia or nitrite burns. |

Just give it away for FREE !!!
Place it in the trading forum area.
For sure somebody would like to have it.

Unfortunately, reefers like ehrenpaul are why so many people end up with damsels and have to figure out what to do with them when they start harassing other fish. Like Peggy said, you do NOT need them to cycle, and God (or whoever) did not create damsels so that selfish or uneducated people would have something to cycle tanks. Fish food serves the same purpose, and you don't have to worry about catching it later.
As for what to do with it now that you have it, trade it in at the lfs and maybe someone who wants a damsel or has more aggressive tankmates can give it a home.

I know that there were some tongue-in-cheek responses in this thread, but just do something humane. He may be too tough for a fuge, but I am sure a LFS can put him in one of their aggressive tanks and he'll be fine.

Give it back to the LFS or to another reefer that wants him.
