Default Mimic Tang's pectoral fins are getting rot

I bought a mimic tang four days ago and I noticed today that it's pectoral fins are getting rot. The edges are getting damaged. Do you guys have any idea why? My Ph is 8.1, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 0.5, Cal. 460, Alk. 10, Phos. 0.07. My tank has been up and running for two months now. I do have a mated pair Maroon Clowns, a Pair of Bartlett's Anthias, Melanurus Wrasse and they're all doing well and they're very healthy. Please help and thanks in advance

No, they're not shreded. The edges are getting white and look like peeling.

Default Fish

I had the same issues with a fish recently, it was so bad that it started spreading to the rest of my fish. I used Melafex for 3 days and everything went away. Hope this helps as Melafex is one of the only products that I know is cheap and reef safe.

Looks like a case of flukes. Do a 5 min freshwater dip and see if white sesame seed looking things fall off.

Is this in the same tank you just recently removed the angel from that was scratching?

Yes, it's in the same tank, but the Singapore angel is no longer in the tank. I removed it like ten days ago, and I put this tang in the tank five days ago. Now it's worse. White dots is all over it's body and I've been trying to catch him with no luck. My other fishes are very healthy (Knock on wood). I have Mated pair Maroon Clowns, A Pair of Bartlett's Anthias, and Melanurus Wrasse. Tommorow I will post a video so you guys can see it. Thank you very much guys for helping with this issue. I really appreciate it.

Why would you remove a sick fish and put another fish in 5 days later? Patience my friend.

I'm a 100% with you on this Chad. It's a mistake I've made and I promise that it won't happen again.

Was the angel the newest fish prior to this? If so it sounds like he introduce a parasite or illness to the tank. Your other fish are not as bad because they are not as stressed but any new fish will be very susceptible to it. The first step will be determining what it is. Hopefully the video give a better pic. Have you had any luck treating the angel with anything?

The angel wasn't the newest, and when I got him from the LFS he was QTed. He use to rub on the rock once or twice a day. I asked LFSs and they said if it's only once or twice then it's normal. Lately he started rubbing like crazy so I used Prazipro for ten days and unfortunately no luck so I had to take him to the LFS to get treated with Copper. Today, he seems beter, he is swimming normal, and plying with the Melanurus wrasse, but I might be wrong. Is it possible that it could be stress?

I doubt it is only stress. It sounds like the copper worked. What did you do just prior to the angel acting all funny? Did u add another fish or something?
