Hello, I am trying to understand how to set up my a 50 gal breeder tank as a sump tank. I will be using it with a 155 gal tank. I need the sump to contain my carbon filter, protein skimmer, heater, and return pump. I have received very different suggestions as to how this should be done and how much space to allow to each division. Thanks, TJ |

pretty simple 1 measure your equipment so u have big enough compartments 2 get materials either glass or arcylic for the baffles and silicone chamber 1 is ware your tank drains from tank add 1 baffle chamber 2 refugium if thats what you want add 3 baffles as a bubble trap chamber 3 skimmer and return pump in section 1 ware tank drains u can make a filter sock holder for your carbon look at a aquacon sump for example Last edited by Jim_Dont_Care; 08-03-2012 at 11:16 PM. |
