feeding...

I have 2 questions regarding feeding..

1- I have a cinnoman clown, Yello pgym, and a bi-color blenny..
along with about 12 snails and 12+ hermits

Im just curious on what kinda of feeding regiment i should be on with these fish.. I have about 50+ lbs of LR in my 29gal along with Xeina, Kenya, many mushrooms, many zoo's, some ric's, green star polyps, frogspawn and a orange cap!

I feel that im feeding to much. but then i hear of people feeding alot more then I do.. My feeding regiment Im on now has not caused any problems in the past but i thought i'd ask and see what you guys recommened.

I normaly feed 2-3 times a day as follows-
* Morning - some marine flake food (small little pintch)
* lunch time - couple small pintches of myse shrimp (thawed out)
* Dinner - 1/4 cube of angel formula 1

2- I beleive that the coral I thought was hammer is really frogspawn.. none the less I know it still needs to be feed, correct?
what should I be feeding this and how offten.. its the branching type with 4 heads about the size of a quarter and 3 small heads little smaller then a dime..

(normaly I would know all about the coral I have since i do typicaly do my homework.. but this was a hitch hiker in a box of LR I bought from a guy i met who was closing down his tank.. so not like i was going to complain)

well I kinda just like playing with my tank..
I think thats why i have always fed so many times a day.. I feed very little those three times..

like i have heard of people feeding 1 whole cube per feeding..
it takes me a week about to use a whole cube soo..

but yeah i think i might try slowing chaging the feeding schedual and see what happens..

I have alot of algea growth coming on.. think dew to the tons of LR I just added .. but im sure cutting back on food wont hurt at all!

I also have wondered if my fish are getting enough to eat. They always seem hungry and go into a frenzy when I do feed them. I feed once a day, alternating between frozen and flake. I would like to do so more reading on this subject so if anyone has a good link please post it.

thanks,

Kevin

IMO feeding depends on what you keep in the tank. If you have clown fish they are not big swimmers but if you have triggers they are always on the go. I have a Tassled Filefish which Bob Fenner suggest feeding 3-4 times a day. So I do feed him 3-4 times a day and then the other fish also get food.

And what they eat also depends on what you keep in your tank.
I try to offer a variety of foods, so I alternate foods all the time.

I alternate these foods for fish:
Spectrum Pellets, Frozen Formula I, Frozen Angel Food (has sponge in it), Krill, Formula II Pellets (For their Greens), Seaweed Selects (I buy all 3 and alternate these for variety), Cyclopezee (for small fish & Coral), Mysis, Brine Shrimp (for snack only), Meaty Blend that I make.
My Meaty Blend has small & large pieces so everyone gets some including my corals.
Squid, Scallops, Shrimp, Clams, mussles, raw crab meat, & what ever else I can add that came from SW I never feed FW foods to my tank.

Corals:
Rotifers, Small chunks from meaty blend, plus they get the cyclopezee, brine, mysis.

300G Reef has tassled filefish, Male & Female Bird Wrasse, Kole Tang, Hippo Tang, Pinktail Trigger. I feed 3-4 times a day.
90G FOWLR has Moorish, 2 green chromis & 2 pajama cardinals. I feed 3-4 times a day.
30G with green carpet has 1 green filefish, 2 clown fish. 1-2 times a day.
All 3 tanks have cleanup crews in them.

thanks for the replys guys!

I think I am probably feeding ok then. cause like was said the clown i have stays pretty stationary and just picks food when its by him or on the rocks near him.. not really a big swimmer..
but the yellow pgmy is a food-aholic.. that fish would eat all day long if he could..

actually he does cause he is always nibbling on algea and stuff in the tank..
