It probably hasn't grown, they do that, i have had one for over two years and it has maybe doubled in size. One of my favorite cleaners and longest lived. Have you experience it shooting out its sand grenades yet, lol

They have special skin, they can contract to a tiny fraction of their size, or when they're happily chowing on sand they can be way huge. They can squeeze their sometimes giant bloated bodies through tiny holes too.

When you got it it was probably contracted as much as it could be.

They get stressed while shipping and commonly puke their guts out.... sometimes even turn inside out, which makes them look really nasty. Then a few weeks later after swearing they must be dead on arival they are climbing up the glass 20+" long looking like a giant dookie. They are a great cleaner, but seems they are very commonly over used since they can really destroy the sand bed if the tank is too small for them.

I had one squeeze itself into a powerhead intake once.... that was not cool... sea cucumber salad floaing in the tank. Yes, I can say from experiance they can be a bit toxic when something like that happens.... not a full tank die out, but it did have some major drawbacks.
