I am out of breath, I just got back from my boat and I had to fight off all the grass shrimp so I could get out of there.
I also had to pick up about five gallons of amphipods.

In serious, I will ship you a cooler, with all the bags and accessories you need, along with a prepaid label, if you will ship me some shrimp and random critters!!!!!!!!!!

I have shipped these things once to Bob Goemans in Arizona and he thanked me for the boiled shrimp.
You can't put too many of the shrimp in a bag as they die. They would have to be shipped overnight and I think that is about $30.00. I just don't think it is worth it for you.
I did once ship a bag of assorted stuff to a school out in the midwest someplace and most of it got there safely but I only sent a few of each item for their classroom.

I knew it would have to be overnighted, that's fine. I would have to buy one of those 24 hour cooler packs, to keep them nice and comfortable! Plus if two of us was splitting the stuff, that would be only $15 each for shipping!

I want to try and raise the shrimp! I have got to see what that would entail!

Katy, I don't think you will be able to raise the shrimp. They are easy to hatch and they hatch in my tank all the time, the problem with them and all shrimp is that they have to hang around with the plankton for a couple of weeks and they do not survive that in a tank. That is why no one raises crabs or shrimp in captivity.
I think that you should just move here to new York, buy a boat and dock it next to mine. You will be covered in shrimp. A few weeks ago to collect amphipods I got a frayed rope about 2' long and let it hang in the water next to my boat. Today that piece of rope weighs about 5 lbs and is about as fat as a bowling ball full of sea squirts and amphipods.
You can see one here in the last few seconds of this 12 second video of a mandarin at his feeder eating baby brine shrimp. I forget about them in my tank.
