Default Live feeder shrimp hanging in my tank sweeeetttt

I just had to share, because I know most people have never seen the MARINE ghost shrimp, and although they are sold as marine feeder shrimp, I don't feed them to anything lol. They are all just hanging out in my tank, cleaning everything, and super fun to watch!!! They are out 24/7, and they eat pellet food. I feed them the spectrum SMALL fish pellets, which are perfect size for them to pick it up and put it in their mouths lol. I can tell they eat it, because they are almost clear, and you can see the pellets in their bodies when they eat them.

I have like 60+ of the small ones, and then I have large feeder shrimp (not sure the type) but they are like 4 inches long, and only come out at night, but they are AWESOME CLEANERS!!!!

I got them from Reefs2go.comicon and as it turns out, they seem to be the only source to get them, which is kind of a bummer to be limited like that, but I don't know why nobody else sells them. They would sell like hotcakes here!!!

They are so awesome though! They are just MAJOR jumpers!!!!! so you have to have a lid or something..... or plan on picking the crisp ones off the floor all the time. They are carrying eggs a lot, but So far I haven't seen any baby shrimp.... but either way, the baby shrimp hatching would be a good food source for other fish and corals.

yea no problem! I just had to share them, because they are SOOOO cool. Everytime I ask store owners if they can get them or even seen them before, they all say no to both questions, so I know this isn't a "common thing," BUT iT SHOULD BE!

I collect them here in New York with an 8' net. Every pass of the net brings about 5 pounds of them and I can fill a five gallon bucket with them, no water, just shrimp.
I also let them hang around in my tank and they live for years. I don't have any fish large enough to eat them but they are great food for larger fish and are the only foods some fish will eat.
Here we call them grass shrimp, they are all around my boat and you really can't get away from them.

These are in my reef, this one is pregnant.

There are just too many of them, they are taking over my town and the eastern part of the US. It is hard to move without knocking over shrimp.

I'm surprised nobody there has started selling them! You could make a small fortune! Considering there is only one source that I could find with countless google searches, and they are in florida!

Those things sound like they'd be fun to watch. And they must do a great job of cleaning up too. I may have to see about these if possible. I think a few would get eaten but who knows. The blood shrimp has been in my tank for over 3 years and continues to molt without getting chomped!
