Question Yasha Goby missing? 1 week

almost a week ago i added a Yasha goby to my reef tank and it went into hiding immediately as expected. at night or very early in the morning i would check the tank with a single LED i have and he would be right out front sitting on the sand sleeping. its been a few days sense I've last seen him. i put a pistol shrimp in at the same time which is also AWOL.

is this normal behavior? should i assume the worst, or keep looking for it?

I have heard of others saying similar things. I would potentially expect to not seem either of them for an undetermined amount of time. Or, they may just simply appear one morning.

I have a pair of Hi Fin Red Banded Gobies (barber shop) they disappeared on me for about 10 days. I feared the worse and then one day during feeding time they came out. You never know with these guys. They may be moving their den or something. Just keep an eye out (or ear for the snapping lol). Just pay attention at the feeding times, that's pretty much the only time I see mine. I will say I'm very jealous you have a pistol. I had one for my pair but my swissguard ate it .

I've got a yasha/pistol combo in my 10g and have gone weeks without seeing them (especially the goby). Then one day, out of the blue I'll see the yasha come out while I'm feeding. So there is hope Look for freshly moved sand.

got the pistol for free from a good friend!! he was tearing down his tank and didn't even know he still had it. i was just looking around the tank and noticed a new burrow under one of the rocks. i don't see anyone in it but i know its new and i don't think anyone else in my tank is capable of making one. hoping for the best! i know the LFS said they had it for a couple weeks and it was eating like crazy.

just how loud is the snapping? my tank is kinda loud, not sure if i will be able to hear it or not. i thought i might have heard it the other day, just not sure what I'm listening for. someone needs to upload it!

I've been trying to get a pic but they're very skittish at the moment so maybe after a few days ill be able to get a pic of the pair

Well I'm glad you found him usually by about day three I start looking on the floor behind the tank for them... But I did have a Fridmani dottyback disappear for a couple weeks once, I was very surprised to see him again!
