Default Porcupine Puffer

Was doing research on adding a porcupine puffer to my reef tank. Had a few things I'm wondering about. Will it eat all of my CUC even if I kept it fed? Also I have a green mandarin in my tank, will it bother that fish at all?

I had one about 10 years ago, it was a PIG. It was a bottomless pit of hunger. Your taking a gamble with adding it to a tank. One problem is that their teeth are designed to crush shells and thus, continually grow. Like a beaver and wood, they have to have food in shells once and a while to keep the teeth from getting overgrown. So its hard to condition them to just eat frozen and not go after your CUC. Theyre are really fun to watch though but I would leave them in a FOWLR tank.

I have a large one and he is a awesome fish. Very personable. He sees me go to the freezer and you can tell he gets excited. I hold a piece of krill up to the glass and he will follow it up and down. I would not have bought one, but a friend had one and it needed a good home, so he's mine now. Forget about having shrimp, crabs or any fish that will fit in his mouth. Mine likes a snail once in a while, too. Mine never bothers my coral or any of my fish. I have really become attached to mine. I even named him : "Puffy".
