Default Just a couple pics of my SPS system

Hello Fellow SPSers,

I just got a new smart phone and thought I would post some pics of my tank with it. Nothing spectacular, but it will have to do until I pick up a canon rebel t3i. These are the first pics that I have posted of my tank. The tank was started July 1st, 2011.

Regards,
James

Pics of the sump... I wish I could get better pictures of the Flamethrower, Acid Trip, Yukis, and Highlighters. They still do have a way to go as it comes to attaininig the perfect color, but they will get there with a little TLC.

Very nice selection of corals. I am especially liking the 2nd pick up from the bottom and the cream colored encrusting frag with pinkish red polyps.

Thanks Jesse. These are all small frags that will eventually be grown out using zeovit. The coals you mentioned are red polyp aquatuberculata from lucid coals and the encrusted red polyp coral is seasons greetings from werdlone.

Those are maggie mufflers. They help muffle the sound of the overflow.

Wow, even your sump looks pretty amazing.

So if this is the grow-out tank, I can imagine that the display tank is ridiculous! Nice work!

I never responded to the posts.

The SPS is housed in a custom Great Lakes Aquarium Rimless. The dimensions are (LWH) 60" x 22" x 20" This tank is at my parents house right now. When I buy a new home next June, the display will be built.

The sump is an entirely differently animal. Its LPS only. I have a large section to the left (about 20 gallons) that has PPE Chalice/Favia, Superman Favia, Armor of God Favia (not sure if this is the true name), Pink Tip Frog Spawn, Hammer Coral, Meteor Shower Favia, Tyree Mystic Grape, Raptors Peace Coral, and an Alien Eye Lobo. I then have the rest of the sump split into 3 other parts. The return with intake strainer and live rock. The equipment section with a SRO XP-3000 INT, Vertex ZEOVit Reactor, and a Skimz media reactor with carbon. The last section is a small 5 gallon area which where the water turn over is provided by an air pump and overflowing water from the 20g section. These are where my most expensive corals are. I have Tropicoriumicon Acid Trip, Flamethrower, Highlighter Acans, Yuki Acans, green and purple acans, Rings of Saturn Acans, Skittles Acans, Krugerand Chalice, Ham and Eggs Chalice, Tyree Aspera, Team Mummy Eye, Bubble Gum Monster, Tyree Mummy Eye, Miami Hurricane, 4 Color Chalice, and Tyree Alien Eye Watermellon (The Jury is still out on if I was sold the correct coral). I'll be building a LED LPS bare bottom grow out tank as well.

I was going to buy a new Canon Rebel T3i this Black Friday, but went with 17 new SPS (BlayoJ and WetThumbs Order). I also just purchased a new inland reef saw. Fortunately I have a great reefing buddy, Dknuckles, that will help me with some pics when I am ready.

Happy Turkey Day!
James

Thanks Manaj!!! Your tank is pretty awesome. I'm still waiting for the corals to grow a little more before I pick up a nice camera with a Macro lense. But once I pick up the camera, the pics are going to really start comming.

Happy Holidays,
James

Thank you. I apprciate the feedback. Honestly, this is nothing yet. This tank has only been running since July. I'm still learning what ZEOVit products work best for my tank. I'm really starting to play with combinations of Zeospur, CoralVitalizer, and Pohls Extra.

Again, I sincerely appreciate your kind comments. Just wait 'til I get a good camera. You'll really enjoy the corals then.

Happy Holidays,
James
