Very nice, but almost doomed from the time it was collected. I hope you are one of the lucky ones! Your live phyto gives your chances a boost!

yeah i know they dont do very good in the tanks, but i started reading about these guys over a month ago, and when i saw one at the LFS for so cheap i had to give it a shot, i figured between the coral frenzy, phytoplankton, and lots of fish poo it should prolly do alright.

heres some pics, its in a different spot, it didnt like the first cave i put it in, i think it was too smal, so after he jumped out of cave number 1 i put him here and he seems happier.

Mine only lasted 1 month It moved in the first night and ended up taking a spot in a cave where I couldn't see it. A month later it was missing and I found the shell burried under the sand by the Pistol Shrimp.

Pretty awesome that you've had it 9 months.

i intentionally put mine in a deep cave that gave it room to open and close freely. and being able to choose the cave it is in a spot with good flow. also i occasionally feed the tank with various phyto ( nanno and tetraselmis) and sometimes coral frenzy. i think its not so much as they are hard to keep but that they require planning and occasional broadcast feedings.

Congrats, that is a very long time for one to last. I do agree it has to do with the plankton you feed.
