Well, I have only tried a couple things to solve my problem and none have worked, testing one at the moment. I have 2 175w XM 10k bulbs running on mag. ballasts made by Advance. One side is yellow and the other is white. The things I have tested are - switching bulbs from one side to the other ( didnt help ), another thing I tried was change the nipple to point the same way as the other ( didnt work ) and the next thing Im testing now is plugging them in different power supplys since they were both plugged into the same timer and I was thinking it wasnt getting enough power.

Another thing I am going to work on is making a hole in the hood and put another fan in there, the white side has the fan and the yellow side doesnt, so Im thinking it might have to do with cooling.

I am one week out of the 30 day warranty so thats no good, I did buy from Hellolights.

I am also going to try and switch ballasts to see if it may be the ballast.

Any other ideas out there?

Bulbs are the same age, same amount of burning time. I also thought about changing the mogul socket with another one. Reflectors are the same, like I said, I switched them around and the right side was still yellow, Im pretty sure its not the bulb just for that reason. So I just tried using a different power source and that didnt change it either. So Im still going to try a different ballast, then try mogul and my last thing is to make a hole and put a fan in the hood.

well, I switched ballasts and sure enough, thats my problem. Must not be getting enough power to the bulb. Good thing I have 2 more just sitting around. I am now going to make the switch and hope that it does indeed fix the problem.

just switching the bulbs should have told you it was the ballast or the wiring to the ballast in the first place. first thing I always do is switch bulbs. if it follows its the bulb if it doesnt its the ballast.

glad you got the situation figured out. You could always call and talk to them at hellolights about the warranty. if the ballast are only 30days old most of them have a 1 year manufactures warranty. or is it the bulbs are only 30 days old?
