2.5 Gal w/ Vortech with pictures and video

** Updated on page 2 **

I have this 2.5 gallon tank on my desk, it has been up and running for about two years now. It has around three pounds of live rock. Vortech mp10w es

Sorry for the pictures, I took them all on my phone, I am looking to upgrade to only LED lighting then I might take some better pics with my DSLR.

Live Stock:
False perc
Sexy shrimp
Torch
Anemone
Frogspawn
Blue Xiena
Bam Bams
Red shrooms
Pink zoos
Acans

Dry goods:

18W PC
Light timer
Heater
Vortech MP10W ES

Thats it, pretty simple set up.

I was running two Tunze 5024.04 pumps for most of the time and they worked very well for me. I just got the Vortech about two weeks ago and I just love the pump ( Thanks tax returns and Aquarium Shine!). The flow on this pump is massive and gentle. The only problem I have with this pump is that now I want another one.

Here is some video of what I usually run the pump at. 25% short pulse, second dot from the left duration.

Just playing around with the controller, trying to see how high I could get the waves with out coming out of the tank. 35%, same duration.

That's very cool. I have wanted a frogspawn for my 8 gal biocube but I was told I wouldent have enough room. I just might give it a try now, as long as there is enough room so it doesent sting everything.

How do you keep the temp constant?

that was the first time I have seen the Vortech in action. I'll admit I was shocked at how well it can control the water movement. I was thinking the reason they cost so much was the niche that they had with the wire being on the outside of the tank and the ability to be controlled wirelessly. I stand corrected and in awe of the technology advances.

Search youtube for the vortech mp10 and you will find some from MACNA or MAX ... one of those conferences, when they really push the pump. Crazy.

I really want to see the eco smart controller work well with two pumps at the same time where they run through programs for nutrient export where the pumps alternate from waves to a circular flow to push detritus to the overflow.
