Andy came out today to help me with my hot water heater project and we got to discussing floor reforcement. Originally I checked and made sure the joists ran opposite of the tank and that it was on an outside wall. According to Steve at great lakes this was fine. After our discussion I took...

I am thinking of drilling my 125. I want some input on the glass-holes overflow box. I am looking at the 1500 gph. My current overflow box is a CPR 1200 and it sounds like a waterfall in my family room. 1. Are they loud? 2. Should I go with bigger than 1500 gph to help with not overloading the...

One of the greatest things i enjoy about this hobby is the aquascaping. All it takes is some time, and learning your rocks. You will also need a large bin to put your rock on. For me, i like to put a tarp on the ground, and lay my rock out so i can see exactly what i'm working with, instead of...

Been waiting a long time to start this thread. I've been collecting and planning a buildout for this winter time to add to my 110 display and 100G Rubbermaid In-Wall setup. Through trades, buys and collecting - most of the stuff is ready to go between the garage and basement. I linked a couple...

I bought a Hamilton 400 watt ballast with 20K radium bulbs today. My tank is 70 gallons, 26" deep. Is 6" off the water high enough? I haven't used this type of lighting before so I need advice on how to get it right. I have an oak canopy that is solid on top but open in the back. My husband can...

So I am starting to get things together to set up my 90 gallon. I am new to doing a reef system, and fairly new to saltwater all together. I am not sure how to arrange my rock for coral placement. Also, how do you keep the rocks from falling? Can you/do you glue them to each other? I have 37...

If you are using loc-line returns, do you need to drill anti-siphoning holes to prevent back draining down the pipes?

My New 70 Gallon Cube Well, I sold my 90 gallon set up which had a small sump in the stand. I really want to set my sump up this time in the basement.
