As some of you know I have set up a tank at school and I haven't updated the thread in awhile due to the fact that I am not having much "luck". After every weekend I come back and something is dead. All of the levels test out great everything is at 0 but I end up losing something guaranteed.
I have a 90 gallon reef tank. 30 gal refugium, with 3 blue/green chromis, 1 Kole Tang, 1 Mandarin, 2 PJ Cardinals and 1 Royal Gramma, along with a bunch of corals, cleaner crew and some other miscellaneous inverts. I have lots of macroalgae growing in my tank and bought the Kole Tang to eat...

Got a call at work this morning from my GF frantic that the fish tank had caught on fire. She explained that the heater had either exploded or caught on fire inside the tank.
She removed the heater and unplugged everything right away. Waiting a few minutes she then plugged in the other things...
just saw this and thought it was interesting. i get a slight twinge of shock when i put my hands in the water. now i know why. im glad i switched to a fireplug.
