My bulbs were due to be replaced so I went from PC's to LED's. I have a Helfrichi who has jumped before, so I had to keep the stock lid.
1-Remove everything from canopy.
2-Had to remove one screw post to fit the rear most heat sink.
3-Epoxied L brackets to heat sink to mount to existing screw posts in canopy. Also added brackets to hold night time LED's.
4-Mount heat sink to canopy. (I purchased a 24" long piece and cut to three lengths to fit into canopy)
5-Mounted LED's and soldered connections. I have 5 royal blue and 4 cool white in a 3x3 pattern. (Thanks jolson10450)
6-Added another fan to blow across led's/heatsinks.
8-Made quick disconnects for everthing that is mounted in canopy. (Main LED lighting, fans and night time led's. Makes it easier to take off canopy and not lug around all the cords)
9-Re-assemble canopy
DO NOT HAVE THE DRIVER PLUGGED IN AND THEN CONNECT TO THE STRING OF LEDS, THEY WILL BLOW. EXPENSIVE LESSON.
It is a little blue, but it's much better than the PC's.
