should be fine. i personally would have the tank set perpendicular to the floor joists for added piece of mind.

Are u gonna run a sump? Reef tank? If so an exterior wall setting up the tank like ^^ he said perpendicular to ur joists would be best. This is bc these walls are loading bearing built on ur foundation. As opposed to interior walls that are supported by I beams and/or posts. Remember water weighs 8 lbs/gallon. That's 1070lbs just water. 200lb tank. 100# sand 1-300# rock. Weight of stand 1-200#. Ppl standing at tank admiring. Another 200#. If ur gonna run a sump there's another 500#. See where I'm going. U can be at 2000+ lbs in a hurry. That's a car. So just be sure and plan accordingly and u you'll be fine. Try to use a stand that has a flat bottom n doesn't have feet so to disperse the weight evenly. Good Luck

This, i think you'd be fine with a tank less than 100g. But over 2k lbs on a second floor is risky.
