I have a happy 1 year old green bubble tip anemone that keep in a 75g tank with a 6 bulb T5HO Tek fixture that is very happy and healthy. I kept the same GBTA under 2x 150w MH before I got the T5s and it was fine then as well.

I don't think 2 bulbs would suffice. I had mine under 4 hot5's and it lost some color towards the bottom of the tank (where the anemone planted itself). I'd do at least 4, but 5 would be better. The great thing about t-5's is if you get a big fixture, you can add or subtract bulbs as needed. I have an 8-bulb fixture that started on my 75 (where I used 4) now its on my 90 and I have 6.

Agree we waited to upgrade from pc to the 6x39w hot5 before we got a nem. And with the t5s going they are right up at top of tank between a half inch to 6 inches one loves to stick to the glass during the day almost at the surface the other spreads over the rock they both call home. Have great color and seem very happy n healthy. Wouldn't do nems under pc unless its small shallow tank. My son has 4 bulb hot5 over a 12 gallon for his nem.

My GBTA has 'survived' under PC lighting, but is now doing much better under a DIY LED hood in an Aquapod 12g. I will eventually move this little guy to a tank with MH, as the 12g is slowly transitioning to a Mushroom/Zoa kingdom.

Don't you have a 9 gallon tank? In a tank his size pc's wouldn't penetrate deep enough. Different anemones need different lighting...and surviving is different than thriving. A bubble tip can survive, but won't have full coloring.
Yup, I have a 9gal. Lighting is no problem for my nems. Full color and they like to split as well. Been in the hobby for 5+ years now. Its all good in my reef.

FYI - am upgrading to LED soon though.
