I was looking at a Regent halogen light and was wondering if there is any way to convert it to an aquarium Metal halide light? I thought I saw someone selling a regent light fixture before and was looking for some insight? Thanks

I just bought one from a MR post a month ago. On the regent fixture, it appears that the metal near the connection terminals was trimmed back the end of the ceramic connector was also "chiseled" off a little. The bulb also was modified by chiseling the ceramic ends off so it would plug in.

You should be able to find a DIY thread showing more detail with pictures in this forum or reefcentral. If you can't find a pic, I can try to take one of mine.

I have to agree with you. Happyreefing has a sale right now of 30% off retrofits. I never mess with stuff like that. just get a light that is made for aquarium use.
