My tank goes completely dark at night except for the faint blue glow of my internet router lights about 6 feet away from my tank. I ran moonlights for a little while on my old tank, but never really noticed any difference. If you have a highly programmable setup and are into the whole match the moon phases and that sort of thing it might be neat, but you don't see it very often.

I've always been a fan of moonlighting. Not for any lunar cycle but because it looks so good.. I also think the fish are less stressed if they can see their surroundings better.

I run 3 very low powered LEDs over the middle of my tank during the "night" period of my light system. I don't know nor have I ever really looked into the potential benefits, but I must say it certainly looks better then a completely dark box of water. At the same time, with a very low amount of light I really can't think of any potential negatives.

nice

This is why I love the RKE it controls the moonlights and I think it mimics the moon cycles correct me if i am wrong but think that is why i opted for them and its nice to see the critters at night that do come out just a totally different tank co-pods running around and corals polyps stretching the streamers or feelers that they extend is crazy
love the moon lights..
