I bought a very nice professionally built 5 gallon ato resovoir and the side popped the other day. Looking for a reasonably priced replacement and also a similar skimmer drain resovoir. If i can't find someone to build these I may try my hand at it

I made my own several years ago and is working great. I just gave the dimensions of the box I wanted to make and Laird plastics in Roseville cut them. Use the weld on they have there and it fuses the acrylic at the seams. Very easy to do. Made a 7 1/2 gallon reservoir and put it in use 48 hours later.

Do you mind sharing the cost of this box once all was said and done. I have an ATO but I want to make a little tank to add my clowns to my system. :0) I have made other things out of acrylic but used 1/8" and the source was West Michigan. If there's a closer place I'd consider them as well.

Devon, just buy some Weld On and re-cement the panel that popped.

I'm trying to remember the cost. I was low. Something like $20. I like using 1/4 inch acrylic. Very sturdy when finished. You can usually have them use scrap pieces to get cut to size. The weld on actually fuses the acrylic pieces together so seams should never pop unless there was air bubbles in the seams. If the seam popped putting the weld on should fix it. Use the needle to let the weld on seep into the seam removing the air in the seam and fusing the acrylic pieces together. Here's the picture of what I've been using for years.

Also, 10 years ago I made a hang on style (like cpr) refugium that although no longer being used is still like brand new

Thanks
I've been told some people actual super glue the panels together. I think that's how mine was constructed since there seems to be a rough edge to it. Not sure if just adding weld on would work without sanding it down first. We'll see how adventurous I get
