I'm new to the hobby. Was wondering if anyone wanted to donate some frags or anything to me?:D

I'm broke after buying all this stuff. My tank is small only 30gal, with 96w of 50/50 lgt.

I currently have a Hatite(sp?) annemetie(sp), a rock with some mushrooms on it, a Leather and about 42 lbs. of live rock. Oh ya and 1 fish, a Cowfish... its called a scrowled fish or something, its green with blue dots.

My tanks about 3 months old, and everything is growing very well. I haven't killed anything!! Woo whoo... So if anyone did wanna give away or sell anything for cheap I will take great care of it. :p

I'm in the Lake Orion, Oxford area. But go to Lapear, and N. Detroit area alot too. Thanks.

If you wanna trade for a frag of my mushrooms, I'd do that, they are just red ones, and some have dots of either green or white. Granted I don't know how to frag mushrroms yet, but I been reading a lil about it. Just to new and scared, I wanna keep my record at zero kills.

No frags to donate. But if you have an idea what your looking for ask. You'll find someone on here with a frag or 2 to sell cheap.

Not sure how much you've read about cow fish. But I think you should at least know how big will a cowfish get.

Long-horned cowfish can reach 20 inches in the wild. They usually remain around 12 inches in captivity. Scrawled and Honeycomb cowfish are only a little bit smaller, reaching about 18 inches in the wild, and probably around 10 inches in captivity. The smaller cowfish species, Thornback and Hovercraft, grow to about only 6 inches.

How fast will cowfish grow?
Within its first year of life, Long-horned cowfish can grow up to 8 to 10 inches. Their growth rate slows down signifantly after that. The second year, the Long-horned may grow only another 2 inches. Growth rate is negligible thereafter. The Scrawled cowfish will reach up to 6 inches its first year of life. It will probably grow only another inch or two within its second year. Like the Long-horned, the growth after the second year is barely noticeable.

They also have the ability to release ostracitoxin, a poison that can kill all tank inhabitants.

So in other words you may not be able to keep him for long in a 30g tank.

Hope this helps
Bob

Lol, ya I did't know much about the cowfishes till I bought them. But I'm learning alot.

I wasn't sure if I like this hobby I was always more into reptiles, geckos, painted mantella, ect. This is actually my first fish setup ever. I do really like it. I have an 85 and 65 gal aquarium just sitting around, So I have a few options if the Scrawled starts getting to big.

I know I will need to upgrade eventually. I really want a tank with an assortment or corals, 2 manderins, 1 scrawled fish, and 1 other fish.. possible a valintine puffer... if he dont hurt corals. So thats my goal. (probably like a 2 yr goal but...) :)

As far as what frags I would be interested in I really have no idea. I have only had decent lighting for about 3 weeks. So I guess I'm looking for stuff that can live with 3.3w per gallon of light w/ med. current.

Theres just so much crazy saltwater stuff out there. I don't even know the difference between soft corals, hard corals, clams, mushrooms, pulps, SPS, .. heck I dont even know what a pulp is! heh..

you may want to be careful about using an aquarium that one time housed reptiles. Most of the time a tank that housed reptiles will kill everything you add to that aquarium(meaning fish you add).
