I've seen Petco have some great deals on fish. Do you trust them? Or go with small shops?
Trust in this hobby can be an expensive indulgence.

Clean shop or not, nice selection or just a few, trust yourself. only. In the end you are the only one that is responsible when things go south. Dip all coral. quarantine all fish. exercise due care.

Corals, I buy online or from local reefers. LFS rarely have anything decent worth the price. As far as fish, averaging price, selection and health Stingray Bay is by far the best.
I agree with this. Stingray Bay is a good choice. Greg is a great guy to work with. In all the years i've gotten fish from them, I have only had 1 fish that didn't make it. I do however QT all my fish, but if I didn't I would have no issues adding right to the DT with them. Price is good also.

The Tropicorium in Romulus has a huge selection of coral (much of which they raise themselves) and fish. They are also the best source of sharks and rays locally. The Pet Connection in Livonia although smaller also has a very good selection. Both have knowledgable staff
