I am thinking about buying a 125 gallon tank. Would running 2 mp40's in the tank and a 9.5 mag pump in the sump be better or 1 mp40 in the tank and a mag 18 pump in the sump? The tank is drilled with 2 internal overflows, one on each side of the tank

i think 2 mp40s would be better they have a wider flow than what your return line from your sump could provide plus many different modes on it.

Besides not getting as much good circulation in the tank, unless your sump is huge that much flow through it is going to be a pain as far as microbubbles go.

Difinitely stick with the two MP40's and the 9.5 or a more energy efficient pump. Plus, if you are going to have a sump/ fuge. You wont want a ton of flow going through it so there is longer contact time with the skimmer and the Macro.
