I have 5 blue-green chromis in my 120 and I never seen such beggers in my life! Any time you go near the tank they are begging for food. They get fed well-twice a day with sweetwater zooplankton and Prime reef flakes and they eat nori also. They are growing fast.

I have 3 chromis, also in my 90, and they are definite beggers. As soon as I stick my hand in the tank to feed the fish, they are right there picking at my hand. They also adopted my little percula clown into their school, so he thinks he's a chromis, too.

Some of them can be quite hardy too. about 3 months ago, one of the chromis got kicked out of the group and was beaten relentless until he was missing all of his right pectoral fin and he looked like he was filleted. I thought he was a goner, so I didn't bother trying to catch him out... needless to say, today, the only blemish he has is an itty bitty scar on his side, other than that, he looks great and is a trooper :-D

They are definitely worth the whole $3 I paid for them :)

I love my chromis! For a little cheapy fish, they are the best to watch schooling with each other, getting chased by the clown, or picked on by my hawaiin tang, but they always hang around and eat, eat and eat some more!! I wouldn't trade 'em for anything in the world....

well, amybe a FEW things...:D

Yeah I love them-they are tough-when rearranging rock I kinda squashed one. Had scratches all down his side and was all crooked. I thought for sure he was a goner but he's perfect now.
My carpenters wrasse likes to swim around with them. They just add a lot more action to the tank.

Before I put mine in, I had all kinds of life growing on the glass (like snail eggs, micro pods, etc.). As soon as I released them into the tank...it was amazing how fast they just pecked away at the glass until all was gone in a matter of minutes. Must of been hungry...huh. Great fish though!

Welcome to the board Brent!
Mine did that too when I first got them in the tank. They go after anything that moves in the water and will eat out of my hand now. They are real pretty blue with the 20k halides too.

Yes, my Chromis are PIGS!!!! They are very nice fish, and I would hate to see them go. They adopted my PJ Cardinal into there little group. I had 3 PJ's, but one got eaten by my arrow crab and the other is MIA. But I do love my blue chromis!!!

Anyone else have chromis turn into little demons? I had one that tormented the other 4 and then turned on my Maroon Clowns! I eventually was able to get him out of there, but my wife will never let me have them again. :)

I had one that was AWOL when we tore down my tank. Several hours later he emerged from a rock he had jammed himself into. We put the rock in tubs of tank water but he made it several hours with no heat control or circ.
Tough fish.

I have 2 chromis and they are beggers. I started with 6 and lost 4 in the first few weeks of having them. These are the only fish I have lost since I started SW, unbelievable.
I have them with 2 PJ cardinals that I got free from a LFS because they were so beat up, they were going to feed them to a large clown trigger. I said I will take them dont kill the little guys and here they are 1 1/2 years later. Go figure.

I have three that were my first fish. The tank is either 4 or 5 years old and they are still there. I had some kind of a fungus about three years ago that wiped out everything, but not the chromis. My three are always together and never seem to bother anyone. And yes, they are pigs!

I had 2 in my tank once, nice little fish and yes pigs. But one day my queen and blueline trigger must have felt like a snack, no more little pigs, just big ones lol.
