A kid on Reef Central sent me an email with a bunch of name calling and F-bombs over one of my posts.

To get back at him I started a new RC log on name that was one character different than his. I also 'borrowed' his avatar.

At any rate he made a big stink about it and we both got the Ziggy from RC. I didn't even flame anyone with my new ID. I just answered posts as I normally would have.

Is there an easy way to change ones IP address. That is how RC tracks people.

lol. If your on dial up, you get a new IP address everytime you connect. If your on cable modem,,, You may have to contact your ISP.

Please don't inform the real Lebowski of my address on Michigan Reefers. I actually have my everyday email address posted here.

I don't want him to start flaming me at that address.

I still don't know what I did wrong. I picked a new RC name - LEBROWSKI and copied someone elses Avatar. Not once did I say I was LEBOWSKI. I also never said one bad word about LEBOWSKI.

The mods at RC have a hair trigger when it comes to booting someone off of the forum.

Oh well. I'm swithching to WOW soon. I'll prolly get a new IP address then.

You can find some software out there that will mask your IP or randomly generate different ones. this software is for those that are paranoid or shady.

RC is going to let me back on in a couple of days. They probably saw my picture and figured I was too good looking to ban.

I wouldn't know about anything on RC, cause I still can't get on that site. I have sent dozens of emails back and forth with the mods there, and they can't seem to find my account, or they tell me they changed a PW, but I still can;t log in. That is why I call this site home. So much better and more personal than RC anyway.

there is a very easy way to change your ip. use a proxy server. just google it and you should get a bunch. or email me and i will give you some address's and how to use them. super easy

oh yea, and the ip masking software doesn't work. anybody worth $.02 can find your real ip if you're using that crappy software. even if you have a dial up, RC might flag part of your ip that doesn't change. part of the subnet identifies your isp, location, then your account. obviously some of this never changes.

Hey guys hate to burst oyur bubble but if RC is using suffisticated banning software like we do here we can track my MAC address. What does thatt mean well unless your ip address changes all the time or you have a completly different network adapter which typically its the MAC address of your cable modem, DSL Modem or if your dial up it would be your PC mac address.
so just changing your ip address wond do the trick all the time, Plus we can ban by subnets depending on how big of a range your ISP owns. I dont think its really worth all the trouble. This is my .02 cents

its not hard to spoof your mac (Media Access Control), i have a perl script for doing most of the work for you if anybody is interested. oh yea, if you use a proxy then your subnet would be changed as well. anyways , enough techno lingo.. )how are your fish doing?
