I am interested in picking up a couple of food grade barrels to store my r.o. water in . Some have had pickles stored in them and some have had beverages. Now my question is.... what barrels should I use , how and what do I use to clean them ?

I was thinking of picking some of these up also. Its a really good deal , I too am wondering on how to clean them out correctly. The pickle smell may never leave them though.

I just want to make sure that they will be safe for storing my RO water in.

I don't know about the beverage container, but a couple of boxes of baking soda should help neutralize the vinegar in the pickle barrel. Add a cup or two of bleach fill with water and let sit a day...rinse well. I'm going to pick one up as well.
