I want soft corals - ricordia/zoo/shrooms and I want Angels (specifically Coral Beauty and Flame). I have seen the odds posted of them eating coral at anywhere from 10% to 50%. I believe I will try it but I was wondering... which do you think would help the odds of both coexisting? The fish first and corals later? Or corals first?

I was told to do corals first because freshly introduced corals will excrete more mucous, which is an invitiation for an angel to snack on them. But if you add the corals first they have some time to acclimate to the tank and wont be produccing as much mucous.

Hmm, I haven't heard that one. If that's true then that's a pretty good reason to do corals first. I was kinda thinking that if I did fish first maybe they would be used to getting their food from me and not go looking elsewhere.

"All dwarf angels are territorial, especially with members of their own species, then other Centropyge. Only folks with very big systems, four or more feet long, should tempt fate with more than one of the same species... and then only with plenty of cover and their watchful eye."
Not a good idea to have both a Flame and a Coral beauty.

Way back I kept a Coral Beauty and a Flame together in a 55 with no problem. Maybe I was just lucky? I'll be running a 90 gallon this time with 100+ lbs of LR... if the remodeling ever gets finished. I'll introduce them at the same time. If there is any problem I will have to choose. Thanks for the tip. I will be paying close attention to how well they play together.
