I finished my easy as pie DIY euro-skimmer on friday..... I'd have to say I'm happy with it so far! working much better than the skimmer that I had.. over the weekend I got about 2 1/2 inches of fairly wet stinky dark gunk out of tank. I followed topjimmy's plans on reef central in the easy as pie euro-skimmer thread

here are my pictures.

I need to redo or replace my venturi as I don't think its producing enough micro-bubbles. But seems to work very well the way it is!

I am running mine with a mag 7 that I already had........ I have about $15 I think into parts. One guy on reefcentral ran this skimmer side by side with his ASM G3 and they both produced the same amount of crud....

just wanted to share.......

That is cool!! I don't think I have ever seen the thread about this DIY project. I am going to setup another tank soon. I don't have the cash to get another MR-1 or Euro right now. This looks like it might be the answer.

:D

Thank You.

glad if I could help!

I'm tellin you, I think this is a good unit. I tweaked the venturi this afternoon and this thing is working even better now!!! I had to lower the water level in the skimmer 2" from what it was... foaming like crazy right now!
