Dolphin pondmaster ?

Has any one used the Dolphin pondmaster DP-12 In-Line? They say you can, but i do not feel confident on its construction.I tried it submerged in my sump and it raised my tank Temp 3 degrees.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Ken
