Dowflake, Peladow anyone?

I know it is not the right season but has anyone seen any Dowflake or Peladow on the shelves yet? I'm seeing snow shovels and snow blowers so it can't be long before ice melt is out.

I got mine at the local farm co op. They use it to control dust. 11bucks a bag. Good luck. If you cant find it local let me know. About a 45min drive from you is where I got mine.
Little confused as to why this was moved to the lounge???????

Dowflake is 80% Calcium Chloride and I thought it was common knowledge that it can be used as a calcium suppliment. Do you really think I wanted to know where I could get Ice Melt?

Could I get this moved back to reefs???
jblabs I am actually driving to Battle Creek tomorrow if you want I can stop and get you a bag or 2 on the way down and we can meet in BC somewhere. Let me know.
Moved back guess he didn't know what the intent of the thread was

As a side note I have a 50# bag if some one wants some let me know. It more than I will ever use
I plan on getting some hen the snow flies. Now you can get this stuff any hardware store or home depot?
Thanks
I looked late last year at Lowes and Menards and had no luck. From what I gather Home Depot had it and the Farm Co-Op would be a better place to try. This time of year the Farm Co-op (or Farm Bureau) in our city would be a better shot.
use?

Okay I understand that salt is calcium chloride and all that good stuff but what's it's place in this grand hobby of ours? If it was pure calcium chloride i could understand but 80% what's the other 20% .....

Tide
As I remember from the article on RC the other 20% is water

Couldn't find the article, but it was close to 20% water and it actually has less impurities than the commercial calcium suppliments they tested. I'll post a link later.
This is a link to the "recipe".
Calcium\alk suppliment

A month or two later they compared the accumulation of trace minerals using the homemade and the store bought 2 part supplements, I just couldn't find it. They found that none of the supplements increased levels of chemicals like lithium above toxic levels but the Dowflake version was actually cleaner than some.

Its a nice cheap way to supplement calcium.:)
Found it at the local farm co-op $12 for 50. Man what a deal!!
