What should I use to clean an empty tank?

Tank has been taken down and there is dried algae and coraline still on the glass. Can I just take water and one of those dishwashing sponges withe the scrubby side and clean it up? Wil that scratch the glass?

Any better ideas?

Water, a little white vinegar, and a razorblade. then rinse it out good

No scrubber? Just a razorblade?

If you use a scrubber and any sand grains or anything get in it it will scratch the glass. The razor will take off everything without scratching, and the vinegar will help dissolve any calcium spots.

The razor is good for getting the "stuck on" stuff off. I would use paper towels as well to wipe things down.

Trust me you can scratch the glass with a razor blade if you are not carefull. I detail cars on the side (used to own a shop) and have seen it happen). But if you are carefull you have nothing to worry about.
