Hit the ecco-reef today in Zeeland. It was stacked with all sorts of different corals. A little pricey but I think some things are open to barter. Really nice stuff.

I really like Ecco-Reef. The guy seems to be very nice and outgoing without being pushy. Each time I was in, he cut the price without me asking him to do so. He adds the corals up in his head and then shaves a few bucks. The last time I was in, he had a variety of corals and fish.

OK sheesh. It is located in downtown Zeeland. Take I-96 to the Zeeland exit. Go east until there is a light with a Burger King on the Corner. Go north to the second light which is Main St. Go East about a block or 2 and it is on the south side. If you get to Zeeland I am sure you could ask at a Gas Station where it is exactly. They have a website Just type in Ecco-reef and it will come up. They had quite a big selection heavy on the clams lps + softies. He had a nice poriotes when I was in there with a commensal starfish. He had a whole tank with sps.
Zeeland is about 25 Minutes SW of Grand Rapids. Good luck and have fun.

Actually the expressway would be I-196! Ecco-Reef is on the corner of Main and Maple(?one of those tree names) in downtown Zeeland. Chris, the owner is a very nice guy and is alway ready to bargin a bit.
Ecco-reef is an extention of his hobby with his full time job being a police officer for Zeeland. The store isn't the prettiest place, but it usually well stocked and all the livestock is healthy.
His helpers there are not very knowlegable so don't ask them any questions tougher than "is that a fish?" as you might confuse them ;)

Is it worth a trip from the east side to have a look? Sure, if you really feel the need for a drive. If you do make the trip, be sure to make time to stop by Solomen Seas in Jenison. Between the two you would have a nice day.

Yes I-196! Ooooooops. Hope that didn't mess anyone up. If you pass a really smelly chicken farm and than a dump, you are going the wrong way. I hear the water is beautiful this time of year in Grand Haven and Muskegon.

One thing about his helpers is when you do ask a question, they won't act like they know what they are talking about. They just admit they don't know a whole lot. That is a lot better than acting like they know what they are talking about and steering you in the wrong direction. They are also friendly and are willing to help you out as much as they can.

I love the Ecco-Reef!! I have gotten my mom in to this hobby. The first place I took her was there! She loved it and thought that they had a lot of nice things there. I like to get my corals from him because I know that they are healthy!!! Haven't had a problem with anything yet! In fact the corls that I just got from there a week of 2 ago are beautiful!
