Okay,

I have had 1 saltwater tank and it was a 29 gallon biocube. So I kind of just went with that setup. However I no longer have that and just purchased a 26 gallon acrylic tank.

I have read most of the "new" or "read first" and can not seem to figure out what to do for filtration of I do not have an overflow.

The tank is a flat back 36" wide tank 15" high. Quick search shows that is it around 26 gallons.

Was wondering if I could just use a Rio Nano Protein Skimmer as that came with the deal when I purchased the tank and add a hang out back filter with a couple Koralia pumps to add in circulation.

Or should I just drill the tank and add a sump?

Your best bet would be to either drill the tank or add a hang an external overflow. You'd need to find out if the bottom of your tank is tempered though...I don't think tanks that small would have a tempered bottom but I'm not sure!

I ran a tank like that for along time with a aqua c hand on skimmer and 2 powerheads inside tank and kept everything I wanted I think it was a remora skimmer by aqua c it had pump that went in tank to protein skin mmervthen gas a flow from skimmer to tank like a hob filter just letting you know either will work

Tempered only applies to glass not acrylic. Depends on what your plans are for the tank. Simple corals or just fish it should be fine. A more dedicated reef tank you may want to add an overflow and do a sump style filter with a bigger skimmer.
