I have been running my 100 gal. reef tank with a 660 ice cap lighting system using 2, H.O.40 watt, 20,000 kelvin coralife fluoescent bulbs as well as 2, 40 watt actinic blue V.H.O bulbs..everything seems to be going well except my 20,000k fluoescents seem to burn out ferquently[3months or so].I change the end caps but I am wondering if I should go to a VHO type bulb...Questions..What is the difference in lighting between a 20,000k 40 watt HO and lets say a 75 watt 10,000k daylight bulb...Should I go to a VHO higher wattage bulb, ...most important is what would my corals like best?
