I got a half dollar sized gbta from a friend, healthy log tentacles wonderful coloring and closed mouth. The nem is now in my 5 gallon nano with a .75" maroon they paired up but the maroon is always swimming and bashing on it. I looked today and noticed the new is tearing apart into it looks like 2 halves, I have a jebao wp10 on it for flow a 27 watt par38 with 2 blue 10watt leds, my Params are

Little to no phosphates
I only use rodi water with reef crystals salts and weekly water change. Do you think my clown is overkill?

It sounds like it is splitting, possibly because of the aggressiveness of your clown. You should somehow get the clown away from your nem for at least a week and see if it looks any better. If you cant move the clown then Maybe make a small barrier around the nem with egg crate.

The clown and new seem happy still he's just splitting

Any change to the environment can potentiall cause a split, including moving tanks, different flow, different temp. and badgering by a fish.
