School tank question again.

After the tragedy, the brain had white skeletal spikes protruding through the skin. OUCH...

It has now been slightly more than 48 hours.

This morning before the lights came on, the brain's skin had almost totally expanded over the skeletal spikes and some of its feelers were out.

As the lights came on the brain slowly retracted and the usual skeletal spikes were once again visible.

Any suggestions or thoughts on his chances?

Oh, and what's the best location to purchase a 55 acrylic? I don't know if I want to get a glass tank again.

Not sure on the acrylic question (someone will know though), but as far as the brain, was it doing this before the accident? The only reason I ask is because open brains seem to like pretty low light levels (from what I have noticed with mine). Try putting it under an over hang or something of that nature.

Mine once was in similar shape - maybe not quite as bad, but there was substantial skeleton visible. I thought he was a goner, but in a few weeks he was back to normal. Mine gets limp when I don't feed it enough. I would feed it often - if the tentacles are out stick some food in it. I know lots of people don't feed theirs, but IME they need to be fed.

Thanks for the input. Sadly, yesterday he took a turn for the worse. I don't think he's going to make it.
