Well we have made a few changes as a lot of you already know but there will still be a west side swap this spring. This will be the 7th year for this event and we decided to add a workshop and presentation lineup to the event.

The GRMAS and MMMC have partnered up to combine a couple of our events to make each event even larger then any in the past. The first event was the Lansing swap that occured in January, with 550-600 people in attendance was easily the largest saltwater event in Michigan.

Next on the schedule is going to be a workshop and swap on April 28th, 2012, in Zeeland, MI at the Howard Miller Community Center located at:

Howard Miller Community Center
14 South Church Street
Zeeland MI 49464

There will be three presentations and workshops, including GFO regeneration presented by dejavu, a photography workshop presented by BeakerBob and a presentation by Dr. Sanjay Joshi. There will also be a swap as well with another nice raffle.

More details on the timeline of the event will be posted within the next week, workshop participants will have early swap admission and get a free gift bag from Drs. Foster and Smith!

Event Details:

Workshop will start at 10 am and run until about 12:30. Speakers will be Dr. Sanjay Joshi, BeakerBob doing photography and Dejavu doing GFO Regeneration.

Swap will be open to the public from 1-4 pm with the raffle the last hour.

Workshop is free admission and also gets you into the swap early - when the presentations are done, you get early entrance into the swap. People who just want to hit the swap will have to pay admission and wait until 1 pm to get in.

Table pricing:

Tables are standard 6' tables.

$20 for a 1/2 table with power - includes 1 admission
$40 for full table with power - includes 2 admissions
$15 - 1/2 table NO power - includes 1 admission

Swap admission:

Free to GRMAS, MMMC and MASM members.

$5 per person, kids (16 and under) FREE with adult admission.

For table reservations, for the time being contact myself, this will be changing soon as we get the table sales setup with an online cart.

The GRMAS is the Grand Rapids Marine Aquarium Society - we have monthly meetings, next oen is Monday at Blue Fish Aquarium in Grandville at 7 pm.

The MMMC is the Mid Michigan Marine Club and is based in Lansing.

Both are great clubs and I would highly suggest getting active with one of them.

Is the workshop before the swap going to be open to anyone, or just to club members? Also will there be a need to register for the workshop or just show up the morning of the 28th?

Swap starts at 1 pm for non workshop attendees.

Workshop is free, no reserved seating. This also gets you into the swap free. You have to be there before the last talk starts (like 11-11:15) in order to participate in the workshop. Sanjay is the first speaker of the morning at 10:00am.

Thanks for putting this on guys. I learned a lot from all the speakers. I know you put a ton of work into it, and just wanted you to know that I at least appreciate it. Thanks again.

Yes, very well done. Had a chance to chat 1 on 1 with Sanjay afterwards which was really the big reason I as there.

I was stunned at the ammount of SPS the sellers had. Wasn't nearly the variety as last year. I left before noon so I hope it got busy later.
