you can get a carbide bit from ebay for 25dollars. the hole will look like its been professionally drilled. be sure to clamp a board to both sides of the glass or youll blow through a corner.
yup yup, Dremel is the way to go. It's a bit slow but the results are the same and it's cheeper. I'd recommend making a dam around the hole to keep a puddle of water in while you grind a hole in the panel. LSR works great for that and its totally harmless to any future occupants.
