Hello everyone.
I noticed a small amount of whatever this is growing on a section of my LR a while back, and overtime I realized it's growing. It looks like a white mold type of fungus or something, but I'm unsure. I hope the picture shows it good enough for someone to make an ID with it. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear you think it's only a sponge. I was worried it was something more harmful or invasive.
If anyone else has any input or other ideas, I'd love to hear it!

its kinda bad picture but looks like a sponge growing out, theyre pretty harmless, on ly slime id ever be worried about is red slime which is algae but that looks like sponge

It looks like cyanobacteria from the picture, but its kind of small and hard to tell for sure.

Update: I wrote the above in the wrong post! Yours actually looks like the beginning of red bubble algae and a white sponge.
